Hi there! I’m Ann Slater-Slechta, the owner and founder of Slate Wealth Management in Carroll, Iowa. As a Certified Retirement Income Professional, I have been helping clients pursue their retirement and financial planning goals for more than 13 years.
With my own life experiences in business, coaching and playing collegiate golf, and assisting my husband in managing the family farm, I am equipped to support my clients in their daily challenges. I am an advocate for education and coaching women on the role of family finance, assisting business owners in an effort toward building a profitable business and helping farmers protect their most valuable assets.
I started my undergraduate education at Briar Cliff University on a golf and basketball scholarship. When April hit and snow was on the ground, I took a leap of faith and transferred to Kansas State University to play golf competitively for the Wildcats. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, continued my education and love for sports while coaching the Ohio Women’s golf team. I continued on to coach at Wichita State University and helped build a top 25 program at the University of Notre Dame. Slate Wealth Management was named after my nickname, "Coach Slate".
I am an Independent Investment Adviser Representative; I hold my series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial. I am a member of Women in Financial Services, and NAIFA's Lincoln Highway group.
My passion of volunteering bleeds through me, I recently helped launch the 712 Women Who Care Chapter, an active member of the Jefferson Rotary, the Carroll Lion’s Club, and Westside Fortnightly group. I currently serve as the President of the New Hope Foundation Board and active volunteer for the St. Anthony Foundation.
David and I have been married for 10 years and are blessed to raise our three children, Rylee Ann (9) and twins, Ellie and Drew (5).
